What is Communication Studies?

Communication Studies explores the way human beings communicate based on theory driven studies. Students will be able to understand human interaction, speech, gesture, telecommunication systems, publishing and broadcast media, with a degree in Communication studies.

  • Communication Studies
    • teaches the art of using words effectively to impart information or ideas, preparing graduates for a broad range of career options
    • trains students to be effective communicators, leaders, and ethical advocates for local, national and global issues
    • focuses on developing public speaking practices, theory based class discussions, and interpersonal discussions in order to build relationships through any channel
I have found as a Communication Studies major that there seems to be a common misconception that this major is not academically challenging and considered easy. However, in my experience, I have found that the work is indeed demanding, has increased my knowledge, and has most definitely broadened my horizons.
