What is Strategic and Corporate Communication?
The Strategic and Corporate Communication major is a communicative major emphasizing message design. Students learn the specifics of business marketing, company culture, business structure and media influencers. The goal is to teach students how to strategically build effective messages to reach specific goals for any type of organization.

Jake Liang's research relates to persuasion in communication contexts enabled by technology (including web 2.0 websites, social media platforms, online product reviews, teacher rating systems, and computer agents). He enjoys working with undergraduate students in collaborative research teams. Jake currently works with students on promoting engagement of online content, understanding message vitality, and testing mechanisms responsible for the effects of digital self-representations (e.g., avatars).
Dr. LaBelle teaches courses in group communication, interpersonal communication, health communication, empirical and applied research methods, and introductory courses for the SCC major. She also enjoys working with undergraduate students on independent collaborative research projects, and is currently working with students to further explore the impact and influence of health literacy in a variety of health and social contexts.
